We are excited to announce the launch of the Black Seed Accelerator Program, designed to break barriers for underrepresented Black-tech-led startups and tech-enabled businesses in the Canadian Prairies (Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba).

Canada is rapidly becoming home to a growing and diverse network of tech ecosystems that are vital to the nation's economic growth. However, there remain gaps in the participation of Black tech founders, startups, and tech-enabled businesses.

Black Business Ventures Association (BBVA) is on a mission to empower Black tech founders and startups by providing opportunities to engage with, and contribute to, their local innovation ecosystems while capturing target market opportunities.

Program Overview:

  • 100% Online: Access a fully virtual curriculum, mentorship, and network, designed to help Black-led tech startups thrive across the Canadian Prairies.
  • Early-Stage Focus: Tailored to early-stage companies led by Black tech founders, the program supports businesses building sustainable models with global market potential.
  • Equity-Free & Complimentary: This program is completely free and equity-free, focusing on Black-led startups with potential for national and international impact.

Program Benefits:

  • Market Validation: We will help you validate your idea through market research. With the BBVA Playbook, you’ll test your assumptions and create a VC-worthy business plan.
  • Network Access: Once your idea is validated, we’ll connect you with our network of experts and investors to enhance your influence and expand your knowledge.
  • Funding Support: We’ll guide you in securing funding, coaching you on pitching and navigating the startup ecosystem.

The Black Seed Accelerator Program provides the roadmap to success for your tech-enabled startup.

Application Deadline: October 22, 2021
