Chazz Sims, the young entrepreneur from Irmo, South Carolina, is most known as the founder of Wise Systems in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Early Life

Chazz Sims was born and raised in South Carolina. He attended the Ben Lippen School, a Christian Prep School in Columbia, South Carolina. He graduated from Lippen High School in 2009. When he was growing up, he didn’t realize it was possible for anyone to get into entrepreneurship by developing a comprehensive business plan and starting their own company. He understands how vital it is to be a role model for the younger generation. He believes many people underestimate what they can do in 10 years until they try. His motto is to never give up.

Education

Chazz received a Bachelor’s Degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2013. He was a candidate for a Master of Engineering in Computer Science at MIT.

Early Career

Chazz has extensive experience in startup companies and has worked in the mobile technology, healthcare, finance fields, and restaurant sector in Argentina. He was a researcher at the Human Dynamics Lab at MIT. His expertise in technology was the motivating force to establish Wise Systems and offer companies a more efficient way of providing services to customers. He understood that getting first customers and obtaining funding for a business venture is difficult. but if you put in the time and effort, the benefits of your labor will add up over time. Using his knowledge of technology, science, and especially AI helped him to achieve his goals. Developing a platform for delivery drivers that’s more efficient than traditional methods is streamlining the process and making it more efficient.

Wise Systems

Chazz Sims is the CEO and co-founder of Wise Systems, established in 2014. Wise Systems in Cambridge, Massachusetts, is a spinoff of MIT’s Media Lab Development Ventures Class. The startup company began as a school project when Chazz was studying at MIT. During the pandemic, Chazz understood how vital logistics are. He realized that millions of people were being impacted by the pandemic and wanted to find solutions to improve their lives. While he was a student, Chazz convinced a few companies to trust his company with their customer delivery information.

Chazz is an expert in utilizing last-mile issues in urban settings. Wise Systems builds individualized routing software to improve the efficiency of a company fleet and make the necessary real-time adjustments in last-minute delivery routes to account for:

  • Current location of the driver
  • Orders from new customers
  • Fastest routes

The software is designed for beverage, courier, energy, field service, food, and an array of markets. The software evaluates the routes with the least amount of heavy traffic. The technology Wise uses, allows customers to know when to expect their delivery within 20 minutes. Wise customers are typically seeing reductions in mileage of at least 10 to 15 percent. Fleets are more efficient, and late deliveries have decreased by as much as 80 percent.

Philanthropy and Awards

Chazz is dedicated to encouraging secure, open, and safe environments through crime reporting. When Chazz has spare time, he spends much of it developing the new platform and volunteering his time at the Cru Campus Ministry, an interdenominational Christian organization. Chazz has been honored for his leadership roles and entrepreneurship. Chazz and two other developers built a game for the first iOS competition at MIT and won a sponsor’s award from Electronic Arts.

MIT honored the co-founder of Wise Systems in 2020. At the virtual MIT AI Conference with a Rising Star Award. The award is bestowed on entrepreneurs under the age of 35 who are building solutions for a better world. In 2021 Chazz Sims was honored by Forbes in their 30 Under 30 list in the category of Enterprise Technology.
