Desjardins GoodSpark Grants 2022 for Small Canadian Businesses (Up to $20,000)

Desjardins is pleased to announce the 2022-2023 Desjardins GoodSpark Grants Program totaling business funding of 3 million dollars. Desjardins is on a mission to help improve Canadian people and communities. To do so, they will award $20,000 to local small businesses in Canada that plan to impact their community positively.

Desjardins GoodSpark Grants Program will choose winners who plan to use the Grant for sustainable development, employment, innovation, and community impact.

Eligibility Requirements


To apply to the Desjardins GoodSpark Grants Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a local business that operates in at least one of the following areas: Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, New Foundland, Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edwards Island, and Saskatchewan
  • One completed online application by the owner of a small Canadian business. Please note: an applicant can only submit applications for one company.
  • Must have at least one employee, but at most 50. Employees must be on the regular payroll.
  • Small businesses must have a Canadian business registration number and a registered business name.
  • Have at least one year of business operation before October 2022.
  • Applicants may not be affiliated religiously or politically.
  • Business may not be owned by any Desjardins employee.
  • Business may not be a franchise.
  • Applicant cannot be a previous GoodSparks Small Business Grants winner in the past.
  • Small businesses may not be a charity or non-profit or receive government funding.



Winners will be selected based on the requirements above, the impact the Grant will have on the small Canadian business, and the quality of the applicant’s submission and plan for business funding.

Prizes



Desjardins GoodSpark Grants Program will award 150 Canadian local small businesses that meet the requirements above grand totaling 3 million dollars.

Each winner will receive a grant award of $20,000 written out to their small business.

Submission Timeline



The 2022-2023 Desjardins GoodSpark Grants Program application period begins Monday, October 10, 2022.

The application deadline is Sunday, November 6, 2022.

Applications must be submitted online by 11:59 p.m. (EDT) on Sunday, November 6, 2022.
